I live in Oregon and an 54 with basically lifelong physical and psychological issues and am have tried a ton of meds through the years with varying results. I am wanting to try to get off of at least some of the chemicals (man-made) and go to something more natural. Since Oregon has a Medical Marijuana Program and has voted it to be legal recreationally, I thought I would look into this. I have stayed away from it for decades because of bad experiences back in the 70s. I am a card holder as of very recently.
The problem I had back then was that I got the "spins" and I hated it. I am also the type that wants to be very clear headed at all times. I am looking at this purely for medicinal use. I do not like the normal THC "high". I have numerous friends that are also card holders and growers, but they like (and some need) the THC high. I am not discounting THC by any means as I believe through my research that all of the cannabiniods have different benefits. I also know it is going to take trial and error with strains until I find something that works best with me.
My goal is reduced (or no) pain, an up-lifted feeling, no nausea and restful sleep. I am trying to figure out the best way to "speed up" the process (if that is possible). I have been through countless drug trials, so I am already aware and familiar with allot of what i will be going through.
I also don't really care for smoking it as even with a bong, water pipe or dry vaporizer, I easily get a very raspy throat...enough to have to drink lidocaine (which I normally use for stomach issues). I would imagine that I would do best on medibles or something that can be put in a capsule. I don't really know the best way to start this in a way where I can monitor everything closely and keep track of the pros and cons of each strain I try.
I worry a bit about medibles as they act totally differently that smoking and last a much longer time and if I used too much I am in for a potentially bad time for a long time.
Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to go about this?
